This was taken at a fan-favorite restaurant in Milano. I went with a gentleman who was a regular, and we had a beautiful whole fish and summer vegetables while discussing trips to distant Sicilian islands and other August plans. We were surrounded by distinguished Milanese on their weekday lunch hour—rushed, but not really, still enjoying themselves and taking their time with an espresso. The bar was too fabulous not to snap a photo of—though I did indeed feel very Americana doing so.
