Positano, fiori per qualcuno

from $0.00

How I adored this man. I took this in 2011 during a semester abroad in Rome. I can’t remember which trip to Positano this was; I went down to la coastiera many times during those four months and always stayed in Positano. It was never yet ‘the season’ and so the village was always quiet—just a small group of locals getting read for summer. I think that’s all they do all winter, is get ready for summer. I was walking down the many steps to the water and here he was, with a handful of flowers just picked from who knows where, carrying them to who knows who, the sweetest, gentlest man. I asked if I could take his photo. He stood like this and waited and wasn’t sure when I had taken it, since he couldn’t hear any click on my digital camera. Che dolcezza. Straight to the heart, this one.
