This was a very wet November week in Roma. The carabinieri and polizia in Italy have very quite distinguished uniforms; they are intimidating based on their dress alone, which I suppose can be said for most of Italy. I was coming down the Spanish steps and knew I wanted to photograph this man as he was looking out over the piazza, but he kept turning his head. I think I prefer it this way, after all.
