Roma, via Margutta in magenta
Via Margutta is one of those superlatively charming Roman streets, tucked behind Piazza del Popolo and lined with antique stores, art galleries, and ateliers. Oftentimes you can hear a saw going, or some sort of artistic work being done, and then a dog barks, and then a friend arrives and out comes some fantastically disheveled Roman greeting a friend in a gated stone courtyard. I took this on a July day, when the buildings were aflame in magenta and summer brights.
