I have spent so much of my Italian life inside a train station. Most of them are extraordinary architectural gems, better appreciated at quieter times like early morning. Mid-day is a mad rush, with businessmen and sisters alike, all eager to make a train. I love how the old-fashioned schedules are still up on the wall. As if they mean anything—trains in Italy are always late!
